My first trip there will be on Saturday. I know this might sound a bit daft, but im coming from Preston and need directions, but no car so will have to be on train/bus….can anyone help please? Thanks

There are quiet a lot of competitions in the Blackpool area, especially in Winter when the Cod are supposed to turn up :). Your best bet to find out more is have a look at the Blackpool and Layton Angling Society website at www.blasonline.com

I lived just down the road in Wallasey for many years and I never knew there were competitions in Seacombe!! I now live in Blackpool and have seen a few anglers on North Pier and now and again on the South end of the Prom. Any ideas if there is much to be caught in Blackpool? If there is I may give it a go as I havent fished for about 30 years but as the sea is only 50 yards from home it might be fun.

Paul, I agree – we realy only fish the matches to be with our friends. Getting anywhere in the ‘points’ is a bonus.

Despite the thunder and lightening looks like you had a good time, never been to that part of the Wirral, the views across the Mersey are great.
