Spring Air, Birding Pairs on the River Dougles

As the weather has been so great recently I went for a long walk along our local river, the Douglas to practice my photography skills and to see if i could manage to get a half decent image of birds in flight with my current equipment. With the dry weather and the sun the banks of the River Douglas had dried considerably leaving shallow pools for wading birds to sift through for food, the usual suspects were in abundance; Oyster [... read rest of post]

I remember going out in [... read rest of post]

River Alt, Merseyside - BLAS Match, June 11th

After collecting some great bait – peeler crabs from Chris at Moreton Angling Centre ( on the Wirral) on Saturday morning Wendy was fired up to defend the estuary cup as she’d already won leg one earlier in the year at Fort Perch Rock. The River Alt is a beautiful place, especially when the weather is so good and seems almost like it’s own little world sometimes. The fishing [... read rest of post]
